WE THE PEOPLE OF BHARATA ARE NEITHER LEFTISTS NOR RIGHTISTS, ONLY RIGHTEOUS
Perhaps there is no other country in the world except Bharat where masses have been in a state of dilemma as to who they are, who their ancestors were, what their real history and ethos had been. Even the extensive devastation of World War-II in 1945 could not fail to turn a new leaf in countries like Britain, Germany and Japan. Centuries of brutal persecution could not dissuade Israel to claim their nationhood in 1948. Within a span of 20-30 years, they turned corners to become economic leviathans transcending severe turmoils and tribulations. All those countries embarked on their journey of nationhood anew and afresh yet socio-economic progress registered by them has been too way ahead to be even compared with that of Bharata. They joined the league of developed nations fast and quick while we are still struggling not to be dubbed a developing nation. What may be the possible root-cause of our abject predicament in spite of being the most ancient, resilient and extinction-defying civilisation in the world ? Answer lies in our consistent, persistent aversion to define ourselves as a unified nation and our stubborn refusal even to initiate efforts in that direction. Even centuries of brutal persecution has failed to invigorate us into renewal and rise from ruins unlike those small countries overzealous in their efforts to reclaim their respective lost glories.
In this hurdle-race, only obstacle difficult to negotiate and surmount is our aversion to be defined as a homogenous unified nation rooted in our ancient Sanatana heritage and values that were once followed by the entire world and we were celebrated as ‘Vishva-Guru’ for our avowed righteousness. Bharata as an ancient nation is impossible to be categorised with Anglophone terminology of either leftist or rightist. Bharata always had its own unique ethos and identity thriving in universality through ‘Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitaha’, ‘Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya’ etc. i.e. sort of guardian-nation for the world. Unless and until we concede what we have been and what can we be today and in future, revivalistic renaissance is simply impossible to achieve. So also in attaining our humongous potential in totality. To the great misfortune of the nation, multiple attempts in this regard have been nipped in bud some of which have been enumerated as under.
Upsurge of nationalistic fervour behind ‘Vande Mataram’ in 1905 had a huge potential and possibility to unify the nation as a solid, impregnable block of a dynamic civilisation. It was accepted as a rallying point for unifying the nation to attain freedom from British paws from north to south and east to west. However in 1921, suddenly it became communal and the golden opportunity was lost irretrievably.
In 1906, Sister Nivedita presented a saffron flag with
Vajra symbolising sacrifice of Maharshi Dadhichi in Congress session to be
adopted as our national flag. However Flag Committee of Congress opted for
saffron flag with Charkha in blue. Thus Gandhian cowardice euphemistically
declared ‘Ahimsa’ became our national flag-mark of pride during those years and
decades.
Next available opportunity denied abjectly to the nation happened to be education reforms. Anti-Sanatana, anti-Bharata curriculum designed under British occupation continued as before even after independence notwithstanding protestations by the then Chairman of University Education Commission Dr. Radhakrishnan, raising wealth seeking generations entirely ignorant of Sanatana heritage and devoid of commitment to the nation. Even in 2020s implementation of education reforms through National Education Policy is being opposed tooth and nail by anti-national regional political parties.
Bharata had been an industry-centric manufacturing economy of multiple items like metals, timber, statues, sculptures, textiles, spices, diamonds, jewels, leather products etc. contributing some 33% of world GDP as one of wealthiest nations in the world. Yet we were malevolently declared an agrarian economy which has limited potential of wealth generation leading to our sinking into miserable poverty with evaporation of our pride, dignity and national self-esteem. Decadent urban chaos with social anarchy was nurtured at the expense of rural prosperity and affluence which destroyed healthy equilibrium between material and Adhyatmic aspects in everybodys life. Villages were not only illustrations of Hindu view of life of balanced approach in all aspects of life governed by righteousness but also a hallmark of Bharatiya way of cruising through the world.
Adoption of Samskrita as national language had tremendous potential to unite the nation. Alas, that was not to be. Even Dr. Ambedkar vehemently supported Samskrita to be accepted as national language, then also acceptable to southern states too while Jawaharlal Nehru vociferously advocated English as the national language. In absence of Samskrita education, generations have been unable to peruse their own Sanatana scriptures encoded in Samskrita.
Constitution that was adopted had been blatantly anti-Hindu. As if it was not enough, ominous terms like ‘secularism’ and ‘socialism’ were forcibly inserted into its Preamble supposed to be sacrosanct and beyond amendment. Monster of secularism fragmented our Sanatana identity while socialism our industry-centric prosperity. Nation was forced into communal anarchy and pathetic economic servility.
Our society had been least state-dependent with education, healthcare, arts, culture, temples, trades etc. managed through societal bodies only in a magnificent display of democratic spirit. We were pushed into the whirlpool of capitalism vs. communism which led to adoption of western concept of welfare state with plethora of freebies.
Thus our basic ethos itself stood ravaged and we as a nation forfeited our basic identity of being righteous always. In spite of having a fragmented polity, we have been an extinction-resistant culture and civilisation. It is high time now to recast our polity and consolidate our identity through our ancient righteousness. Massive restructuring program of the nation undertaken by the Government headed by PM Modi is a historic endeavour to reclaim our original ethos and identity from the stink of capitalism, communism and all other -isms reflected in and so proven in all development programs of the Central Government, reverting to manufacturing based economy, reconstruction and renovation of temples etc. None of it can be dubbed either leftist or rightist albeit certainly Bharatiya to which righteousness is intrinsic. Our foreign policy too symbolises the same ethos of rectitude, justice and benediction for all encapsulated in righteousness. It has been our precious asset and we must zealously cherish it ever guarding against relapse of abject slavery under foreign domination.
