I have been often requested by acquaintances to define Hinduism. However, I never took it seriously till a matter came up in Supreme Court wherein Justices admitted Hinduism as a complex issue, a life-style and what not. These observations are tangential, at best. Let me attempt to define Hinduism from multiple perspectives to the assistance of all those who have been seized with the matter so far.    Sanatana Pantha of Hinduism is as mystical as the Absolute Consciousness i.e. Param Brhamatma Himself. Just as every ' Bhakta ' has his own take on Absolute Divinity, so are multitudinous definitions of Hinduism, may be individualised, personalised or otherwise. Even if the best brains toil their best to fractionate "Existence" at its most fundamental level, they shall not discover more than these two constituents - Faculty of cognition/knowing, Faculty of action/acting Though I am certainly not one of the best brains in the world, yet I had the temerity of allowing my faculty of imagination (a composite of both the aforesaid faculties) to run riots, not for hours or days but for months together, attempting to identify any possible III or IV constituent of the Existence or even sub-fractionate the aforesaid two pillars of the Existence. Ultimate Existence is essentially an aggregate of just two constituents in complete harmony with the binary cosmic plan - Prakrti and Purusa i.e. action and consciousness respectively. Prakrti is active albeit unconscious while Purusa , inactive yet entirely conscious. Prakrti in its most fundamental manifest exists in three modes i.e. Sattva , Raja and Tama Guna -s while Purusa is indivisible and untainted by modes. In varying degrees and orders, these three Guna -s form the basis of entire cosmic Maya . These Guna -s are eternal, can be subdued through Sadhana but impossible to be dissolved completely. Those who succeed in transcending these Guna -s, are liberated to salvation. Those unable to migrate beyond the realm of Guna -s, create more and more of Samskara -s for themselves through Sakama Karma -s i.e. motivated actions.
